Fire Pit Heat Zones - Outdoor cooking to perfection!

Your fire pit isn't just for warmth and ambiance; it's a versatile cooking station that can elevate your outdoor culinary adventures!

Before you start, understand that a fire pit creates different heat zones:

  • Direct Heat: Directly over the flames, ideal for quick searing and charring.

  • Medium Heat: Around the edges of the direct heat, perfect for slower cooking and roasting.

  • Low Heat/Coals: Away from the main flames, where embers provide consistent, gentle heat for smoking or slow braising.

Our current favourites to cook outdoors:

  • Corn on the Cob: Either grill directly on the grate until kernels are lightly charred, or wrap in foil with butter and seasonings and toss into the coals for a steaming, sweet treat.

  • S'mores: The ultimate favourite of fire pit desserts! Marshmallows roasted over the open flame until gooey, sandwiched with chocolate between biscuits. A timeless classic and fun for all the family!

  • Grilled fruit like pineapple slices, ideal for a healthier desert!
